<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">As you will recall, the
GNSO has one representative sitting on the
<a
href="https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/fellowship-selection-committee"
moz-do-not-send="true">ICANN Fellowship Selection
Committee</a>, the group responsible for evaluating
applications for the ICANN Fellowship Program and choosing
individuals to participate as fellows. Heather Forrest has
been serving in this role since 2018, but has informed
Council leadership that she needs to step down. The GNSO
needs to identify an interim replacement before the end of
July to serve the remainder of the current term, which ends
in April 2023.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Heather first entered
the role when she was GNSO Chair and sought to represent the
GNSO as a whole in fulfilling that role. Given the short
timeline for finding a replacement and keeping this history
in mind, it seems fitting that as an interim solution that a
member of the current leadership team fill her slot.
</span>Sebastien has offered <span lang="EN-US">step in
through </span>April 2023<span lang="EN-US"> and complete
the two remaining selection processes in this term.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">If there are any
concerns about the proposed approach or</span> proposals for
alternatives
<span lang="EN-US">please raise them on list no later than <b>2

alternatives, Sebastien’s confirmation will be added to the
consent agenda for the July 2022 Council meeting.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
