Hi Team

It was really great to see those of you who could attend our sessions in Cancun, and also a big thank you to those who took the time to participate remotely–I know how challenging that can be.

We made some really good progress finalising a number of outstanding recommendations to be included in our Initial Report. However, as is often the case, we ran out of time to complete the second reading of the draft text. In addition, we also need to conduct a review of our Phase 1 recommendations and selected sections of the draft Initial Report, such as the glossary.

As you all know, we are on a path to publish our Initial Report on 24 April 2023, and I am concerned that the deadline is at risk because we still have a considerable amount of work to do.

I apologise for the short notice, and I understand that it may not be possible for everyone to attend, but to give us the best chance to publish our Initial Report on 24 April, I want to schedule two additional meetings: one on Monday, 27 March and one on Monday, 3 April at our usual time of 13:00-15:00 UTC.

Please respond on the list if you have any concerns. We will also have an opportunity to discuss the additional meetings during our call next week. However, in the meantime I have asked the GNSO Secretariat to go ahead and schedule these additional calls.

Thank you again to everyone for your contribution to this work so far–I appreciate that it’s difficult to maintain interest and momentum over such a long period of time. However, we are very close to achieving an important milestone in our work that will bring with it a short vacation for the team 😊
