As a reminder, please remember to complete the legal committee homework by filling out the Legal v. Support Staff will build Tuesday’s agenda based on the questions Legal Committee Members specifically note (in the google documents) as requiring additional consideration.

Subject: Phase 2A Legal Committee homework

Dear All:

Welcome back to the Legal Committee!

By now, all of you should have received a meeting invite for the first Phase 2A Legal Committee meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, 2 February at 14:00 UTC for 1 hour.

The EPDP Team drafted several legal clarifying questions, and Support Staff has organized the questions into separate Google Docs for Legal v. Natural<https://docs.google.com/document/d/156jajwvAkl1l5VsdWXpznrghkKyMUD2bhKkS20X7Xrg/edit?usp=sharing> and Feasibility of Unique Contacts<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UCP86uPZJBA_oh_4lfa6GwisfqnXUgbi5kdq-VOQCS0/edit?usp=sharing>.

Both documents organize all of the questions assigned to the Legal Committee. As homework, all Legal Committee members are asked to respond to the following questions, as provided in the Google Docs:


  1.  Is the legal committee able to address this question independently or is input from outside counsel (Bird & Bird) required? If outside counsel is NOT required, please provide a draft response to the question for the legal committee’s review.



  1.  If outside counsel is required, please indicate a priority to the question (low, medium, high) AND provide additional information as to how a response to the question is necessary to respond to the EPDP Team’s instructions from the GNSO Council. (Note: the GNSO Council instructions are provided in the Google Docs.)

Homework is due by Monday, 1 February by 14:00 UTC. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding your assignment.

Also, thank you to Becky for graciously volunteering to lead the Legal Committee’s efforts for Phase 2A!
