It is worth review 27 June meeting transcript to reconstitute our discussion on the way forward. Initial proposal was to generate dozen cases on most common situations and examining them in subgroups to identify commonalities that could constitute zero draft of policy recommendations. Those in turn we would aim at discussing during the September f2f meeting.

Some members did not support work in representative subgroups and insisted on working in a plenary settings. If so and provided that the work of the team should be concluded in a reasonable timeframe, logic suggest that we examine fewer cases and try to distil commonalities from a smaller sample. 

It was also agreed that in order to progress we would use the deadline of 5 July for those groups who would like to put forward cases. On 11 July call we will look at LEA case aiming at finalizing it and maybe do the first reading of another case. In remaining 7 calls prior f2f meeting we would examine the rest. Hopefully we will be able to acquire rhythm of case per call. For 5 July we would need to receive finalized cases or at least rough drafts that we know what awaits us and can plan Team’s activities. Those cases that we will examine in August certainly can be fine tuned also after 5 July deadline.

Hi Marika and Team,

 

Generating use cases for third party processing of domain registration data is one of the most important aspects of the EPDP’s Phase 2 work, and so I hoped to confirm that we would not be “stuck” only with those that we are able to flesh out this week, correct? We’re hard at work even on this holiday week in the US to put together the most common use cases for the team’s discussions. 

 

We had some productive conversations around taking a small number of representative use cases to the DPAs (perhaps in conjunction with the Strawberry Squad). Is that what this Friday’s deadline is intended to capture, or serve as a cutoff point for use cases to show DPAs in the first instance? To clarify, we would expect that the EPDP team will continue to work through more – limited to a reasonable number – use cases before we conclude our work, correct?
