Melissa cc as above

Good morning; thanks for this. Am very optimistic after two very productive meetings this week.

Would be good, as you touched on the other evening; to have some reassurance from the Board on our project plans (even if it is just "keep up the good work")

best

Nigel

Hello all,

As you may have realized, we will not meet our goal date to share an agreed framework with your community groups. That being said, good progress has been made. I’d like to continue to support your momentum while being mindful of Board Resolution 2023.03.16.08. Accordingly, I propose the following revised timeline for the work of this group:

  * Continue meeting weekly throughout May. Due to holidays, we will need to schedule calls on Mondays and Wednesdays to make this work. We will maintain start times of either 12:30 UTC or 20:00 UTC and will do our best to avoid known conflicts. Terri will be in touch with calendar invites.
  * Our revised goal is to share an initial agreed framework with the community on or before 31 May 2023. In order to achieve this, we will need to continue moving with purpose through our red line identification work and engage in very narrowly focused follow up discussions on divisive red line issues.
  * While working through red lines, you will also have access to a clean document detailing areas of broad agreement. I must emphasize that meeting the 31 May goal will necessitate you follow this clean document in parallel to red line discussions. More on this to come in a subsequent email.
  * Publishing an initial agreed framework (should one result) by 31 May will allow your groups just under 2 weeks to review the document in advance of the two open sessions scheduled at ICANN77.
  * Community feedback will be taken and considered by this group before seeking approval of the final agreed framework.

This proposed revised timeline shifts the previous timeline by a few weeks. While this work remains a heavy lift on a tight timeline, I am encouraged by the hopeful outlook many of you have shared with me.

Finally, if your work towards an initial agreed framework needs to go beyond 31 May, it will then be timely for that request to go to each of your appointing organizations to ensure their agreement with continued efforts.

Thank you for your continued hard work!

Melissa
