Thank you Julie. Great idea for organising our contributions in preparation for our discussions during our meeting and/or perhaps via emails during the intervening weeks for clarification.

Dear all,

Following the WG meeting on Monday, 23 January, staff and the Chair discussed the approach for gathering input from WG members on the proposed metrics for Tasks 3-5 and determined that it could be helpful for the WG to have a framing purpose to help inform the consideration of the metrics. Accordingly, we suggest as a next step that WG members could focus on suggesting indicators of success for the following Applicant Support Program lifecycle elements:

  1. Outreach/awareness
  2. "Business case" aka applicant understanding and determining need/opportunity & developing application
  3. ICANN org set up of Applicant Support Program for success (operationally speaking)
  4. Application submission and evaluation
  5. Contracting/delegation
  6. Ongoing operations of the gTLD
To aid in this process, staff has created a Google document at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GeUbWy2uhltbVktNJpSxqGAu1l3PZJmOHhvIwxcTk7E/edit?usp=sharing [docs.google.com]<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/document/d/1GeUbWy2uhltbVktNJpSxqGAu1l3PZJmOHhvIwxcTk7E/edit?usp=sharing__;!!PtGJab4!7oXFPd3ltwjEZGi7zF34hwP7DtqX7K_BxgGQTZZg6i1DdvT28N46oupI1KcmT8tCO2qvc4mV-msuNbNbHEUvNJn81oKsFNOXA0U$>. Access is set for anyone with the link to edit, but please select Suggesting mode to avoid overwriting other’s additions. To select Suggesting mode, click on the edit button below the Share button and click on Suggesting. See the screenshot below.

In the meantime, staff will consolidate the comments on the framework document (both in the Google sheet and those provided separately) for further consideration after the WG has completed the exercise of identifying indicators of success.

Please let us know if you have any questions concerning this suggested next step.

Kind regards,
Steve and Julie
