[Gnso-igo-ingo-crp] Initial Report has been published for public comment

Agreed. I know that several ICANN constituencies are preparing comments that will be filed by March 1, as are some private organizations.

Extensions of comment periods are generally only undertaken when there are specific requests and rationales. I have not yet heard that any group feels it has insufficient time to file a comment on our Initial Report.

In the interest of getting to a final report asap I suggest we stick to March 1 unless there is a specific and justifiable request for an extension.

Best to all

Hi George and All,

In fact, the first comments were submitted earlier today - by WIPO.

And I know that there are at least 3 other organisations/groups of interest that are currently preparing for their comments.

Although we will likely get comments from CAG first a copule of weeks after Copenhagen, I personally at the moment see no need to (officially) extend the March 1 deadline.

Best,
Petter

With just over a week left to go, it appears no one has submitted comments yet:

Are we planning to stick to the March 1st deadline? (I've seen so many ICANN comment periods get extended, I had to ask.....)

Dear all,

Steve and I are pleased to inform you that our Initial Report has now been published on the ICANN website for public comment: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/igo-ingo-crp-access-initial-2017-01-20-en. The public comment period will close on 1 March 2017 and, as noted previously, we will plan to hold an open community session at ICANN58 between 11-16 March to discuss and receive further community feedback on our preliminary recommendations. In addition, our co-chairs, Phil and Petter, will be conducting a webinar to present the recommendations to the community within the next two weeks, possibly on 7 February 2017.

Please feel free to circulate this announcement and our report so that we can obtain as much feedback as we can on the preliminary recommendations. Thank you all for all the work that you have put into this PDP!

Cheers

Mary
