Dear Stéphane,

Thanks again for your submission for the Eswatini.
I am following up to ensure that there is no misunderstanding regarding the Macedonia update.

You did let me know that you were intending to submit the Macedonia update also but to date, we’ve not received it

When can we expect the information?
Please note that there is a lengthy process for Names to DNS Labels conversion that must be performed after your submission.

We need to prepare to open public comment in a couple of weeks and can’t wait much longer.
Please do let us know if you’d prefer not to make updates to Macedonia at this time and we can proceed without it.

As a reminder, we do have a process for updates, but we were trying to accommodate the Macedonia update as a matter of operational efficiency for all involved including GAC, GNSO, and ICANN ops.

Thank you for submitting the request for additional names for North Macedonia.
I believe a resubmission is required for us to proceed.

In examining the attached “table of identifiers,” we found that they do not match the request in your email that states “It includes a total 52 names (30 already included in the reserved names list – in black ink; 22 additional names – in blue ink)”

Per our count, we found (40 in black ink; 2 in blue ink; 10 in red ink)

Dear Members of the Reconvened IRT,

We herewith wish to request that the list of reserved National Red Cross and Red Crescent identifiers as initially submitted to the IRT be revised and complemented to include, in regard to the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia, a total of twenty-two (22) additional names.

These additions are needed in order to reflect the recent change in the official name of the “Macedonian Red Cross” to “Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia”.

As agreed in past calls of the IRT, we request that the set of names already included in the reserved list for this National Society (i.e. the names “Macedonian Red Cross” and FYROM Red Cross Society” and their agreed variations) be maintained in the reserved names list. This is mindful of the fact that the National Society will continue to be known by its old names in the foreseeable future.

A table of identifiers for reservation for the Red Cross of the Republic of North Macedonia is attached herewith. It includes a total 52 names (30 already included in the reserved names list – in black ink; 22 additional names – in blue ink).


We are also attaching herewith the Facebook pages of the Red Cross of North Macedonia illustrating that the National Society’s new name is in use.
