Steve - I should also point out that the title of this workshop has also recently changed which I think helps clear things up about what it plans on covering. Originally it was titled “The gTLD Programme: Looking Forward to a Future Application Round” but it is now "ICANN New gTLD Program Reviews and Lessons Learned"

“This session, comprising of contributors from the ICANN Community and staff, will explore the lessons learned during the introduction of new gTLDs in the root of the Internet in 2012; including the formal reviews ICANN has initiated ahead of a potential new application round.”

Dear WG Members,

Staff has created a page dedicated to capturing and consolidating Action Items, instead of relying on the individual meeting pages. The purpose of creating this page is to allow for better tracking by both staff and the WG members. You can find this new page here: https://community.icann.org/x/A0WAAw.

Related to this new page, in regards to item 15 on this page: Staff to investigate ICANN workshop on new gTLDs at the WSIS Forum, please find the following update. Information regarding the session can be found here: https://www.itu.int/net4/wsis/forum/2016/Agenda/Session/141 and in addition to Akram Atallah from ICANN staff, our co-chair Avri Doria and the chair of the CCT-RT, Jonathan Zuck, will participate as panelists. If you need any further details, please let us know.

Best,
Steve

Dear PDP WG members,

Please see below the discussion notes and action items captured by staff from the meeting on 18 April. These high-level notes are designed to help PDP WG members navigate through the content of the call and are not meant as a substitute for the transcript. The MP3 and transcript are provided separately and are posted to the calendar at: http://gnso.icann.org/en/group-activities/calendar<http://gnso.icann.org/en/group-activities/calendar#nov>. Please also reference the chat room, which has been captured and provided by the GNSO Secretariat via separate email.

2. Continued Discussion on Subject 1: Should there in fact be additional new gTLDs in the future?

Divide the ‘Constituency Comment’ request that will sent to AC/SOs, GNSO Stakeholder Groups and GNSO Constituencies into 2 parts. Part 1: Only includes the Overarching issue questions including whether there should be subsequent procedures and the issue of gTLD types.

(2) Send out Constituency Comment I (CC1) by the deadline for the Helsinki meeting. This gives us ~6 weeks. Draft (in progress) schedule being built on
https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=58001972#. It is open to comments.

3. Continued Discussion on Subject 2: TLD Types/Differentiation

Action Item: PDP WG and Staff update the Google Doc at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mA_hTUhLhJSsfcmoQwREtUqxykZ5KfJffzJAAhEvNlA/edit?usp=sharing.

4. Wiki Work Space — Update from Steve Chan.

Action Item: None.

5. Liaison to Review of All Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) in All gTLDs PDP WG

Action Item: Agreed that this would helpful and also is in the charter. Seeking volunteers from PDP WG members who also are on the RPM PDP WG.
