[gnso-rds-pdp-wg] WG Status

Daniel,

I don’t recall using the word ‘worry’ but that probably is not too important. My intent was to make it clear that it was not our task as a WG to deal with the GDPR directly. I definitely did not mean that the GDPR would not impact our work. In fact, we spent quite a bit of time focusing on GDPR requirements as they relate to our charter.

Thanks, Chuck, we are monitoring the activities and it also looks as though the relevance of the WG is highly attributed to the GDPR Compliance issue.

I recall in one of the calls you mentioned that we should not worry about GDPR but it seems - GDPR is an issue that we as the working also has got to worry about. It has brought a halt to all the processes and at the same time loss of substantial time.

Where will the discussion begin from since we had already started the deliberations?

Incase something new comes up that is has similar attributes like GDPR will it also render the WG go into comma? These are some of the things we need to look at.

Thanks

Daniel

RDS PDP Working Group,

I expect many of you are wondering about the status of the working group and what to expect with the ICANN 62 (policy) meeting coming up in June. Ultimately, that is up to the GNSO Council. However, we wanted to let you know that PDP leaders recommended that this working group NOT meet at ICANN 62. Knowing that some of you need to make decisions on travel, we hope to hear back from Council soon and will update the working group when we have news to share.

In the meantime, I encourage all of you to monitor activities and share any input you may have with your Council representatives.

Thank you,
Chuck
