Subject: [GNSO-RPM-WG] Message from the RPMs PDP WG Co-Chairs

Dear Members of the Phase 1 RPM Review WG:

We could not reach this long awaited milestone without thanking every member of the Working Group, and particularly those of you regularly joined us for weekly meetings, and more recently extended biweekly ones. We also greatly appreciate the additional dedication of subgroup chairs and subgroup members who worked in parallel at least three times throughout our four-plus years of operation to raise questions, seek data, review answers, and share their results and recommendations with the rest of the WG.

Our memories include the vigorous debates and passionately supported views which made for robust and good faith discussions. Our Final Report of 151 pages reflects the collective work of every active member and thousands of hours of your time. We appreciate your tireless efforts, and willingness to listen and compromise, which make a successful GNSO policy development process possible.

We also thank our liaisons to GNSO Council, Paul McGrady and John McElwaine, for their advocacy on our behalf and assistance with the Project Change Requests they urged Council to grant. We further thank Mary Wong, Julie Hedlund and Ariel Lang, for their unceasing support and exacting efforts in their work product, writing, timelines, and reminders; as well as Berry Cobb for his analytical expertise. These dedicated ICANN support staff kept us moving forward toward the successful completion of our Charter directives.

With enthusiastic appreciation, we now give you back your Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – at least until the Phase 2 review of the UDRP commences in 2021. We wish you all the best in your ongoing endeavors at ICANN and elsewhere.

We now are delighted to deliver our Phase 1 Final Report to the GNSO Council for its consideration and approval. Please enjoy a happy, relaxed, and safe holiday season.

Best regards,

Brian Beckham
