[Gnso-ssc] Upcoming SSC assignment

Dear SSC members,

This is a time of transition for the SSC, with annual re-confirmation of membership underway following the Annual General Meeting. We already have at least one new member (welcome Craig Schwartz!), and will have more identified in the coming weeks.

Staff will be scheduling a meeting for the week of 16 November, so please keep an eye out for a doodle poll next week to get that scheduled. During the meeting, we will be orienting new members and confirming/reconfirming leadership of the SSC. We will also be discussing a new assignment from the GNSO Council – selection of a GNSO non-registry liaison to the CSC.

The Expression of Interest process for the CSC liaison role will be launched this coming Monday, 9 November. A preview of the EOI materials is attached. Before the EOI launches, I wanted to flag one item with this group.

For the majority of its work, the SSC uses the following public wiki workspace for materials related to selection processes: https://community.icann.org/display/GSSC/GNSO+Standing+Selection+Committee+Home. The SSC also has a private wiki workspace that is only accessible to SSC members. The SSC uses this space for materials that may be sensitive or contain personal information that is not appropriate to share publicly. For this particular selection process, the EOI requests some fairly detailed information from applicants, including a CV, resume, or biography. Given the nature of these materials, absent any objections, we will use the private wiki for the application materials (names of applicants will appear on the public wiki). If you have any concerns about this, please respond no later than tomorrow, Friday 6 November at 12:00 UTC.
