Vanda,

$40,000 and two days of a lot of peoples’ time seems to be an awfully expensive way to test the idea.  It would be much more cost effective to have the leaders review the slides and provide their feedback.

Hi Titi
You can read in another way. The Pilot can bring the opportunity to get all leaders to present information and debate the way each presentation is focusing its main points , in order to get feedback from the audience  if there will be  the adequate approach for the Academy  to offer knowledge to future students.
Test the idea in house, with majority of old ICANN fellows and few new members as a counterpoint , can be a good idea, before academy go out  to the whole community.

Thanks you Sandra, Filiz for the attached. It's a good document but and it's a big but in my estimation non reflective of what I understand the ICANN academy is meant to achieve/fulfill/gap addressed.

Having read the proposed two day program - its not educational nor in its participant nature reflective of the academy. It reads as presenting ICANN as is by its leaders and staff to what is more than likely seasoned to a large extent ICANN participants.  Useful for someone entering leadership? Maybe maybe not. As a cross-ICANN sector facilitated interaction? Certainly. I don't see this as a tie in that can be called a pilot for the academy. In itself it does read as an introduction to ICANN - if that is the goal. It should thus not be confused or labelled as a pilot for the academy.

My conclusion - 'good cross ICANN lets get to know and understand each other across sectors session' Yes, but certainly not an ICANN academy pilot.

More work required to reshape and reflect what this WG has been laboring at? Most definitely! That isif indeed it's meant to be a pilot reflecting the future academy in its making.

We are aware, that the discussion in the expanded WG is just about to start and this outline will not cover all the needs and ideas, however this pilot project should be see as a first step to build on an inclusive capacity building programme within ICANN. The WG is should review the pilot project critically and develop strategies and recommendations for future projects. To get a feedback from the participants this WG is asked to develop a survey, to be filled in by every participant in this programme.
