[ICANN Academy WG] ICANN Academy - Update

Dear working group members,

 

with this email I like to provide a short update on the latest developments
and the current status of the ICANN Academy proposal.


As announced in Costa Rica, Olivier sent out a call for participation in the
extended ICANN Academy WG to all other ICANN stakeholder groups. So far
almost all stakeholder groups sent 1-3 representatives and they have been
subscribed to this mailing list already. (see:
https://community.icann.org/display/Improve/At-Large+ICANN+Academy+Expanded+
Working+Group+Workspace) 

 

A warm welcome to all new members!

 

A first introductory call with new members will be held during the next
week. A doodle has been sent out recently.


Agenda:

 

§  Part I - Webinar on the ICANN Academy proposal. This will ensure that all
volunteers are on the same page. It will be a brief presentation of the
slides presented in Costa Rica and during the webinar prior to Costa Rica.

§  Part II – Roadmap 

§  Part III – Define the goals and tasks of the group


***The presentation is enclosed and contains one new slide (no.14), worked
out by the programme committee as a conclusion of the community feedback in
Costa Rica. The purpose of this additional  slide is to underline where the
specific ICANN Academy proposal should fill the actual need for ICANN
leaders and show the linkage to the advanced outreach strategy developed by
ICANN staff. Furthermore it is a compilation of existing capacity building
provisions offered by ICANN to the various stakeholder groups.

During this call  the At-Large Community will be represented by the
programme committee (Tijani, Avri, Carlos, Sala, Sandra  and Olivier as the
ALAC-Chair). Depending on the progress and the discussion during this call a
second call prior to the Prague meeting will be organised in the week of the
4 June, leading the discussion towards the curriculum. The curriculum had
been discussed and agreed within the At-Large Community already, therefore
the programme committee will represent the voice of At-Large again.

 

During the upcoming ICANN meeting in Prague an open session with the
expanded working group is scheduled for:
