Dear IFR2 Team,

Welcome and thank you for volunteering your time to this important effort. I am pleased to let you know that the SO/AC appointment process is complete and the team composition is posted to the IFR2 wiki<https://community.icann.org/x/CYBEDw>.

I wanted to provide you with some information about what to expect in the coming weeks:

Next steps:

  * ICANN Board action: The ICANN Board must formally convene the IFR2. The Board is expected to pass a resolution at its next Board meeting in early September. An announcement will be posted to ICANN.org when this step is complete.
  * PTI Board action: The PTI Board will also pass a resolution to appoint a PTI staff member to serve as a point of contact to the review. This will happen after the above ICANN Board action.
  * IFR2 leadership appointments: The ccNSO and GNSO councils must each appoint one co-chair from their respective membership appointments (per the Bylaws Section 18.7). This step is in progress.
  * Kick-off meeting: Once the above steps are complete I will work with the co-chairs to set up a kick-off meeting, likely to be towards the end of September. During this meeting I will introduce support staff and ICANN and PTI liaisons to the review.
  * ACTION REQUESTED: To help with planning an IFR2 meeting or informal get-together at ICANN78, please answer the couple of questions in the Google form here<https://forms.gle/sFMTXEMiGGL4z98RA>.

I look forward to working with you all on the IFR2. In the meantime, please fill out the Google form above, and do let me know if you have any questions.

Note that this mailing list (ifr2-team at icann.org<mailto:ifr2-team at icann.org>) will be the primary mailing list for the team to conduct its work; it is a publicly archived list, archives posted to the wiki here<https://community.icann.org/x/CYBEDw>.

Best,
Jennifer
