[IRT.RegDataPolicy] [Ext] Definitions

Hello all,
Dennis thanks very much for the clarification.  My question is why we are including definitions in the Consensus Policy language at all?  If the terms are meant to be consistent with the RA/RAA then we should not duplicate them here.  To the best of my knowledge (I did a quick scan of the other CPs)  it’s not common practice in other Consensus Policies to have a definitions section.  Further, if a term isn’t defined in a Recommendation, should  we be explicitly providing one?

Perhaps we can chat about this a bit on our call this afternoon?

Marc,

The definitions define terms for purposes of this Policy only. They are intended to be consistent with how the words are used in the RA/RAA and other policies where applicable but don’t modify defined terms in other agreements/policies.

Are the definitions intended solely for use as reference to someone reading the Registration Data Policy (as the glossary was in the phase 1 recommendations) or are they intended to have broader meaning outside these policy recommendations applicable to other policies and procedures?

Obviously the answer to that has pretty significant implications so I want to make sure I’m clear on the intent.
