Please see the note from Steve Metalitz below.
Personally I share Steve's concerns. An opt out from WHOIS, just when we're
looking towards the Review Teams report to cure many of the ills associated
with WHOIS doesn't sit well.
Please let me know if you would oppose the ISPCP offering support for the
IPC position.

Tony and Marilyn,
IPC believes that the ICANN Board approval of .cat's request to "opt out" of
public access to Whois sets a terrible precedent on a number of accounts and
violates the Affirmation of Commitments. Accordingly we have made a formal
reconsideration request to the Board Governance Committee (please see
attached and below). We would welcome any support that either of your
constituencies could provide in this effort. Please let me know if you have
questions.
