[NCAP-Discuss] Pointers to sources related to name collisions in ccTLDs?

Dear colleagues,

We heard your feedback clearly in today's call that the Study 1 report needs to consider name collisions in a general way and not appear to focus on gTLDs. To that end, I asked that if you know of sources related to name collisions in ccTLDs that should be considered in the report, or if you believe that the report focuses too narrowly on gTLD name collisions when summarizing a source that discussed name collisions in a more general context, please send a note to this list. Considering that Karen's exhaustive search of the name collision literature, aided by the pointers to sources that many of you sent, yielded sources focused largely on name collisions in a gTLD context, if we are to amend the report to include more information about ccTLD collisions, we will need pointers to additional sources. That being said, there are general changes to the report that can be made right now that will make it clear that the report is about name collisions in TLDs in general.

To keep us on schedule, we'd like to publish a draft of Study 1 to the public and open a public comment in early February. I'd therefore like to propose the following near-term schedule for this group:

Monday, 27 January: Complete Study 1 draft, including Sections 4 and 5, sent to this list (possibly with some revisions to Section 3 as discussed above)
Wednesday, 29 January: Deadline for sending additional sources related to ccTLD name collisions to this list if those sources are to be considered for the initial draft of Study 1
Monday, 3 February: The version of the Study 1 draft that will be put up for public comment sent to this list
Very early February: Public comment on draft of Study 1 opens

Thanks,

Matt
