Adding to this as one of the chairs of the SSAC work party: 
The document is nearing completion, and we hope to have it published around the end of the year or so (at latest before San Juan (ICANN 79)).

I am an ICANN Nextgen mentor this year. One of my mentees for ICANN78 wants to explore artificial intelligence opportunities within the ICANN realm.
