[Npoc-discuss] Nomination for NPOC Secretariat

Dear colleagues,

I would like to nominate Emmanuel Vitus to join Secretariat as part of
the NPOC EC. I have known him for over 3 years now and I believe he is
best suited for this position, pending he accepts this nomination.

Emmanuel Agbenonwossi is a Web Journalist and Internet Policy Researcher.

Based in Accra (Ghana), Emmanuel is the head of communications of
Paradigm Initiative, a pan-African non-governmental organisation
working to advance digital rights and digital inclusion.

Emmanuel is also the Executive Director of Afrotribune in Togo. Under
his leadership Afrotribune has contributed to several Internet public
policy and advocacy activities in Togo.  The organisation led the
drafting of Togo’s first Digital Rights and Freedom Bill in 2019.

Emmanuel has started his career in Togo   as a speech writer and
communication officer at the office of the Prime Minister of Togo and
later as editor of State-owned website republicofgtoftogo.com. He has
been a freelance contributor to Radio France International, BBC
(French desk) and the North Africa Post.

Emmanuel is the convener of Togo Internet Governance Forum and
contributed to several Internet governance research and contributions.
He is an active member of Internet Society, ICANN, IGF Academy. He is
Togo’s focal point of the African Union flagship project, PRIDA.

Emmanuel is an alumnus of the University of Greenwich (UK), the
Central University of Tunisia, the University of Malta, Stanford
school of public policy (UK) and the Busan University of Foreign
Studies (Korea.)

He holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism, a postgraduate diploma in
Cyber-Security, a bachelor degree in Finance and BSc (Hons) in
Business Information Technology. He is currently a PhD candidate with
the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the
University of Washington (USA) with a topic focus of information
controls and Internet shutdowns in Africa.
