Nonetheless, I would add that many attempts and initiatives have been created to foster such mentorship - I myself have been mentored by some of the senior members in NPOC (Caleb Ogundele) as well as others in NCSG. People like Kathy Kleiman have supported me and other colleagues in writing multiple public comments and she continues to organise policy drafting workshops. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">The error here is the assertion that people need to be mentored into constituency leadership, I believe a better approach would be to be mentored into active membership, then leadership comes naturally as contributions begin to speak for itself. </div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">In NPOC specifically, we have seen the injection of relatively new members in the EC after each election cycle in the last couple of years (2years ago - Vice President, last year- Comms), hence, it was unfair to have brought up this narrative right before the constituency election. But, our leaders should consider (and I am sure they do) that as part of their job description, even if it is not written bluntly on paper.
