Hello Everyone,

Please see Herb's comments below.

So, here are my thoughts and let me know if I am incorrect in any of my
assumptions (because I am not familiar with all the dates etc.).

You (collectively) are working on the Progress and Implementation Status
Report draft which needed to be presented to the Board in June and it is
now 6 weeks late. That report needs to include suggestions for a
rebalancing (or not) of the seats on the NomCom for GNSO (the second BC
seat going to NPOC would be your ideal solution).

You (NPOC) are preparing recommendations for GNSO consideration and will be
discussing the proposal (a newer version of Raoul’s letter) tomorrow at a
stakeholder rep call.

The Board has accepted the Review Report (including the Implementation Plan
& all of its recommendations) and the next step for the Board will be
approving the final Implementation Plan to have the recommendations move
forward.

No decision has yet been made regarding the second BC seat but there are
four potential scenarios being considered.

OK... now a few questions.

Who will be making the final decision regarding the second BC seat? If I
understand correctly, there will be an entirely new GNSO entity/working
group/whatever that will be formed (after Board approves the implementation
plan) to establish what the outcome of Recommendation 10 will be? I am
assuming you (NPOC) will have representation on that future committee?

In the meantime, you (NPOC) need to put forward your best-case scenario (BC
giving the seat to NPOC). I am not discussing the GAC seat simply because I
am guessing they will not give up their seat.

So, for the time being, if I am more or less correct above, I think you are
doing just about the best you could do to fight for representation on
NomCom. The Review process is wrapping up and I’m not going to get involved
until it has completed its course. I am glad I helped get Raoul a seat at
the table and if you need help getting a seat at the next table let me know.

Have I missed anything?
