Greetings Everyone,

On behalf of the NPOC EC, We are pleased to announce the CROP program for ICANN 80, which will sponsor a community member to attend ICANN 80, taking place in Kigali from 10th to 13th June 2024.

Who is eligible?
This travel opportunity is exclusively available for one participant from the Africa region who desires greater involvement in the stakeholder group's activities. Please review the Travel Policy to confirm your eligibility.

Expectations:
The selected candidate is expected to actively participate in all meeting sessions and will be provided with an onsite mentor. Additionally, the EC may delegate outreach and other responsibilities to the attendee during the event.

How to apply:
To be considered, please submit your application containing the following details:

Name
Departure and arrival dates/city (this call is specifically open to members based in the Africa region for ICANN 80)
A brief statement outlining your motivation for attending ICANN 80 on behalf of NPOC, along with a concise post engagement plan detailing the activities you intend to participate in. Please specify which working groups/policy discussions you have been part of and also plan to engage with or wish to enhance your involvement in.
In your statement, address the following:

Why do you wish to attend the meeting? Specify which working groups or policy discussions you have previously participated in and would like to further engage with. If you haven't been involved in policy discussions before, indicate which policy discussion(s) you intend to participate in. (Please include links to your mailing list contributions and your attendance record in WG meetings).

How much time, effort, and work are you willing to invest in studying policy topics before, during, and after the meeting? Are you committed to staying engaged or volunteering to mentor future NPOC members?
Note: Be prepared to fulfill all visa requirements as you prepare your documentation for attendance, should your application be successful.

Deadline:

Post CROP Report:
The successful CROP candidate will provide the EC with a standard CROP report and also prepare a blog writeup sharing experiences they had during the meeting and how it contributed to the NPOC Outreach engagement.
