[registrars] RE: WLS on ICANN's agenda

Hello All:

I have been in contact with many people regarding the WLS, including some of
the people that have sued ICANN. I know first hand that many registrars are
now partnering with Pool.com, SnapNames, or have their own stand alone
offering which provides significant positive cash flow to those registrars
on a monthly basis.

As you recall I previously served on SnapNames Advisory Board of Directors,
and recused myself from this topic of discussion when the registrars tackled
this issue. Similarly, I have recused myself from voting on this issue at a
Board level. Notwithstanding this recusal, I have tried to educate my fellow
Board directors on the many sides of this argument, and why the Registry PDP
is so important to prevent this sequence of events from happening in the
future.

As always, please feel free to give me a call or drop me an email. I still
maintain close ties with many registrars on regular basis and despite Rick's
concern, I do have a "clue" as to what is going on :-)

Look forward to seeing those registrars traveling to Rome next month.

Best regards,

Michael D. Palage

Will Mike Palage provide us some in site as to the board's negotiations with
Verisign regarding WLS?

I hope that mike still has some ties to Registrars enough to clue us in on
what transpires next week.

   Proposed Agenda:
     ...
      o WLS Negotiations with VeriSign
