Hi Andrew,

I agree with Terry's interpretation.  "root server" encompasses hardware, software, and other operational components. Its identity is just its name -- how we refer to it.

I also agree that the current RSSAC026v2 definitions don't match this interpretation very well.  IMO most of what is currently under "root server" would fit better under "root server identity" and we probably need a new definition for root server.

Thinking about the Introduction figure in the v2, I wonder if it would be helpful to draw a "root server" box around all of the boxes for identity, address, and instances?
