Hi Susan,

Thanks for passing this through, and I agree with your comments. This would seem to be a clear example of 'low hanging fruit' that should be addressed at the time of registration. I am very interested to develop recommendations that address this sort of situation, and reduce the incidence of deliberately inaccurate WHOIS data. This was a recommendation in the 2007 GAC Principles, and it clearly still requires attention.

I ran across this WHOIS record today and couldn't resist sending it to the team. I have reported it to ICANN but it seems to me that a registrar could easily put mechanisms in place that would not allow a registration lacking so much information.

All registrar data, including registrant WHOIS data, is provided for public, non-commerical use only.  Any information made available by InTrust Domains and its affiliate registrars shall not be collected, distributed or used for any commercial activity.  Third parties to agree not to use the data to allow, enable, or otherwise support any marketing activities, regardless of the medium used. Such media include but are not limited to e-mail, telephone, facsimile, postal mail, SMS, and wireless alerts.
