Interestingly, page-level restrictions do not permit access to pages of interest, such as "PCI Compliance in Registration Process". Without such access, it's quite difficult to assess the content and context of the discussions.

Sadly, these conversations are occurring in a room without representation from Registrants who are bound by terms in the agreement (3.7.7) and are negatively impacted by the current state of WHOIS, wide variation in Registrar/Registry services and service levels , and time scales of years to address Internet-time issues.

Dear Team members:

Here are a couple items you may be interested in:

 * Whois issues and the Team's draft report (among other items related to new gTLDs) are addressed in a letter Rod Beckstrom sent to Asst. Secretary Larry Strickling today -- <http://www.icann.org/en/correspondence/beckstrom-to-strickling-11jan12-en.pdf> (Whois also is reference in other recent letters posted on ICANN's correspondence webpage).

 * Negotiations between ICANN Staff and Registrar representatives to amend the RAA are addressing Whois issues contained in the Team's draft report. Status reports on the negotiation sessions and related information are posted on a public wiki -- <https://community.icann.org/display/RAA/Negotiations+Between+ICANN+and+Registrars+to+Amend+the+Registrar+Accreditation+Agreement;jsessionid=6DFF81DFF6D9FD24FD09CE1E0FB06DBE>.
