Dear RZERC,

RFC 8976, Message Digest for DNS Zones, has been published (link: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc8976). Per the RZERC’s discussion during its January 2021 teleconference, the RZERC Chair would like to propose the following timeline to complete this document:

  * A 48 hour final review period. Please express any objections to the document on the RZERC mailing list by 16:00 UTC, 12 February 2021
  * If there are no objections, the document will be considered final and given a number in the RZERC document series (RZERC###)
  * Staff will provide a cover letter and the final document to Kaveh Ranjbar to forward to the ICANN Board for a courtesy 48 hour preview
  * Staff will publish the document on the RZERC website after the ICANN Board 48 hour preview

With this email, please note any comments or final objections you have on the attached draft of the Adding Zone Data Protections to the Root Zone document by by 16:00 UTC, 12 February 2021

Best,
Danielle
