Dear Akinori, Adiel,
The TSG will consider this proposal and will revert to the BTC on the
questions posed below in the next few weeks, certainly prior to the Kobe
meeting.

Regards,
Ram

Subject: For consideration: Proposal to hash PoC in Public Domain Name
Whois

Dear Ram,

On 4 June 2018, ICANN has received a proposal from the Anti-Phishing
Working Group (APWG) suggesting a way of obfuscating Point of Contact
information in public domain name Whois by hashing them. The Board
Technical Committee (BTC) has reviewed the proposal during its meeting
this Monday 4 February 2019 and proposed that we pass it to the Technical
Study Group on Access to Non-Public Registration Data for information but
also to find out if its technical and operational assessment could be
considered as part of the work that the group is doing.

The letter and the full proposal can be found at:
https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/correspondence/jevans-to-marby-et-al
-04jun18-en.pdf.

Thank you.

Adiel A. Akplogan
(on behalf of the BTC)
