Dear ICANN Staff

India is not favouring the release of Two-Character ASCII Labels “in”, “ln” , “1n” and deceptively similar as the ccTLD “.in” at the second level. ICANN is requested that India’s objection on release of Two-Character ASCII Labels “in”, “ln” and “1n” at the second level should apply to all current and future requests from new gTLDs.

Regards

Ajay Kumar

GAC Representative, India

NOTE: This e-mail address has been converted to a mailing list by which you will receive weekly notifications regarding new requests for release of two-character ASCII labels. Incoming communication sent to this e-mail address will not be posted. If you no longer wish to be subscribed to this list, you may send a message to this e-mail address stating your intent, and an administrator will review your request and remove you from the list as requested. Should you have questions, please e-mail https://mm.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/two-character-notices <customerservice at icann.org" style="color: purple;">customerservice at icann.org.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We sent a notification in February 2015 regarding the revised www.deity.gov.in/esdm(https://www.icann.org/resources/two-character-labels" style="color: purple;" target="1">Authorization Process for Release of Two-Character ASCII Labels(“Process”) in which, beginning 23 February 2015, all new requests for the release of two-character labels posted for comment under the Process are subject to a 60-day comment period. Since the initial notification in February, we are sending periodic communications regarding the publishing of new requests.

We want to inform you that we have received new requests since the last notification and that new requests have been posted.

· 37 TLDs - New requests on 29 May 2015: New requests posted for comment under the Process will be subject to a 60-day comment period.

All requests can be viewed on the Authorization Process for Release of Two-Character ASCII Labels webpage.

As stated in our communication 20 February 2015, process improvements have been made to alert relevant governments.

1. GAC Member Representatives: ICANN has converted this e-mail address to a mailing list by which you will receive weekly notifications regarding new requests for release of two-character ASCII labels. If you no longer wish to be subscribed to this list, you may send a message to this e-mail address stating your intent, and an administrator will review your request and remove you from the list as requested. Requests to be removed from the mailing list may only be submitted by the email addressee.

2. ccTLD Administrative Contacts: Each ccTLD administrative contact was sent a direct email notification of updates to the Process and were encouraged to notify the relevant government for the corresponding ccTLD unless the government was represented in the GAC or otherwise made aware of the updates.

3. Subscription to www.icann.org: Any interested party may subscribe to www.icann.org to be notified, weekly or daily, via email when new requests are posted for comment under the Process. A ‘How-To-Guide’ with instructions on how to subscribe can be found Authorization Process webpage.

4. GAC Members Opt-Out: The GAC’s 11 February 2015 Communiqué stated that a list of GAC members who intend to agree to all requests under the Process and do not require notification will be posted on the GAC website. Once this GAC member opt-out list is posted, ICANN will remove those GAC members from the weekly e-mail notification of new requests for release of two-character ASCII labels.

To submit a comment regarding a request, select the Submit Comments link next to the corresponding request. If you would like to submit one comment for multiple TLDs, please notate which TLDs you want the comment applied to in the subject and body of the e-mail message.

Comments from relevant governments will be fully considered.

For general questions, please e-mail customerservice at icann.org.

Kind regards,

ICANN
