Commonwealth of Nations 1961,
Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) 1975,
Non-Aligned Movement 1960,
World Trade Organisation (WTO) 1995,
and many other organisations,

Relations with the European Union (EU)

Customs Union Agreement 1987,
Application for EU membership 1990,
Commencement of substantive accession talks with EU 1998

Still not a member of the European union though.
