Thanks for the heads-up. If Assam is successful in getting its own time zone, we'd need an abbreviation for it. I didn't find any abbreviations in use on the web. A plausible candidate is 'BST' for Bagaan Standard Time. (POSIX requires at least 3 letters in time zone abbreviations.)
