Turkey and Istanbul are in both eastern Europe and western Asia i.e.

	$ ls /usr/share/zoneinfo/*/Istanbul
	/usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Istanbul
	/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Istanbul

Even the division and number of continents is cultural; see:
