Well, not quite correct.

In the Philippines (where most people speak a reasonable amount of
English as well as their many local dialects of Tagalog), they often
use a rather derogatory term "boomba" to refer to persons of Indian
descent.  This racial slur did not adapt to Mumbai name change.

But that is a discussion for a different list.
