In addition to what other commenters have said: this database uses the
English language; labels for other languages are a matter of
localization.  As there is no language academy or other legal
authority for English, there is no such thing as "official" in
English, and it has long been the policy of the maintainers of the
database to follow customary English usage.  So if the government of a
country wants the database to refer to it (or a location within it) by
a different name, it first must convince the community of English
speakers to do so in ordinary writing.
