[UA-Measurement] Agenda 10/2 UTC 5pm-6pm

Hi Dennis,
The Summit will only start on Monday 4 November. While the ALAC folks will be there from Saturday 2 November, all those who are attending just the summit will miss this opportunity - and I believe that those are exactly the folks that we want to reach out to, because the “regular” ALAC people are by and large already aware.
As far as I know the ATLAS (i.e. the Summit) agenda is already full, and we have been already denied an ALAC IDN WG meeting, but I see what I can do. Maybe a flash mob 😁😁😁
BTW, I will miss the Saturday session because I will arrive only Saturday evening, but I will be there for the full ATLAS event.
Cheers,
Roberto

I can tell you for sure that the session tentatively scheduled for 6 Nov (UA:Community Update Session) is for outreach. The rest of UA sessions will be (am hoping) a combination of working and outreach, but mostly working sessions.

Re At-Large Summit. We do have a session scheduled with ALAC for 2 Nov. If you believe this is not sufficient and there is an opportunity to carry over the conversation to the summit, would you be willing to organize it, along with other ALAC members within UASG? I can name a few from the top of my head… Abdalmonem, Satish, Edmon.

Dennis

It does answer, thanks.
I think that more “flash” sessions can be far more effective than one single marathon for involving new people, but OTOH it might be less efficient for internal UA work.
I think that we need to figure out the right balance - i.e. what sessions will be working sessions, and what sessions will be outreach.
Incidentally, in Montreal we will have the ATLAS (At-Large Summit), where we will have short of 100 folks representing different user community. We *must* have some sort of presence there. Is this already planned?
Cheers,
Roberto

Hi Roberto,

There’s this tentative agenda (enclosed) that includes all proposed UA sessions. I think we are waiting for the meeting team at ICANN to confirm the slots so that we can do the outreach.

For this ICANN meeting the UASG will test a new format. Unlike past meetings where we would have a single all-day workshop on day zero, for ICANN 66 we are proposing several mini sessions throughout the entire week. Each session will have some specific focus (i.e. ambassadors, measurement, EAI, etc).

I hope this answers your question.

Best,
Dennis

Hi Dennis - and all
Following today’s teleconference, I would ask for some clarification.
I understand that the F2F session in Montreal will be Sunday 3 November 9:00 to 10:15 - or is it 9:30 to 10:45, I am not sure I got that right during the call.
I was wondering whether this slot is meant mainly for internal discussions or also for outreach.
I assume that there will be more UA sessions that are probably better suited for outreach, but wanted to check anyway.
I would also recommend that the details about the UA-related activities in Montreal be diffused ASAP, so that interested people can put this early in their agenda and that folks who do some outreach can have firm data to communicate. This is probably something more in the scope of UA-comm than us, but I am saying it anyway :-)
Cheers,
Roberto
