Hi Harsha,

Thank you for the feedback. The detailed outline for the materials in the SOW<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EXHWWMt-sO1BFwCjx6m2oC55gpuLusl3/edit#heading=h.obl6vjlfl15v> does include the topics you have suggested. The intention was to cover the background and relevant materials within the 30 hours, not leaving these as pre-requisites. We should only assume basic programming skills based on ASCII and address details within the materials we develop.

Regards,
Sarmad

Dear Dr. Sarmad,
I agree with you about covering some of these general sections in 30 hrs. However, we may have to introduce fundamentals as prerequisites for this course. For instance, those who will follow must have a basic understanding of Unicode, Regular expressions, IDNA2003, and IDNA 2008. My suggestion is to offer fundamentals as a prerequisite course. and later to provide the UA in the second semester. 30 hrs roughly comes down to a semester.

Thanks and regards
Harsha

Dear all,

Thank you for reviewing the draft SOW and for your comments. I have tried to address all the comments and sent responses. Please feel free to share any follow up comments.

One comment is about estimating the effort into the no. of teaching hours. When we do training, we skim over the material without too much detail. For the modules, we would need to cover the details. There are clearly 3-4 sections (with multiple topics):

· Internationalization relevant for UA

· DNS, IDNs, Email and EAI

· UA related programming for applications

· Set up of email servers to support EAI

If we spend about 7-8 lectures (one hour each) on each section, we can cover these in about 30 hours.

We can certainly do more detail but perhaps we can start from this and see if more in needed in some places and that can be done in phase 2 of the work.

Is this a reasonable approach to move forward? Or should we aim for different target hours?

Regards,
Sarmad
