Dear team,

I hope you guys are gearing up to the ICANN 57 meeting in Hyderabad… I sure am.

I just wanted to take a bit of time to tell you about a Pilot Program currently happening within ICANN, the ICANN Pilot Onboarding Program. This program kicked off in ICANN Marrakech and is being headed by Janice Douma Lange under the DPRD. Certain experienced community members were paired with certain fellowship alumni who are currently involved in the different communities. The purpose of the Pilot is to help these alumni and newcomers into the community learn more about these communities in the hope of being more involved and active and eventually holding leadership positions. I was lucky to be one of the mentees chosen for the At Large community with my mentor being Dev Anand Teelucksingh. The second At-Large mentee and my partner under Dev, is Isaac Maposa.

One of the end products of this program is to come up with a document that will help newcomers coming into At-Large from different backgrounds and disciplines to have a document or in our case (we put it on the wiki) a one stop shop for all things At-large. We take into account that a lot of this information is on the website but we have also identified some gaps in documentation and also realize some of the information is dispersed in different areas. We have endeavored to bring all together in one place and hope it is more comprehensive. We would like you, the Outreach and Engagement Sub-committee to have a look at our work in progress critically and give us your feedback which will be highly appreciated. We aim to make this page a place where we can eventually refer all our new members be it individual or ALSes regardless of the region you are joining from.

So here is the link below.

We would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks a lot and see you in Hyderabad.

Kind regards

Beran
