Thanks Cheryl for transferring the document into a google doc ..
It's my first time to use the tool but I think it's going to be extremely helpful and hope colleagues would find it convenient too ..
I have added the below to the document and I'm repeating here for the record in case colleagues decide not to go for this tool ..
*         Participatory and empowerment evaluations
*         Chatham House Rule
I have used green color and inserted <MI> in front of my text (not sure if this is what you meant by inserting our initials, please let me know if not.) .. I was also challenged by the formatting and could not control the level of indentation of my inserted bullets (just thought worth mentioning to avoid confusion) ..

Sorry to bother you with all this .. Hopefully my ignorance won't last for long ;) ..

Kind Regards

Thanks Manal this will indeed get us started :-) and I'll start doing some of that later today/tomorrow...

I've been so bold as to transition this text into a google doc as well and you should all get the following text in an invitation to collaborate... I hope most of you might be able to access and that some of you might find this a useful tool (along with the gWave I'll also put up for our use) to find out more see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Wave and http://wave.google.com/about.html

<text from invitation to collaborate under separate cover> Taking the outline document for the 'getting started on brainstorming' that Manal most kindly created and in the (current absence of another agreed collaborative tool set/space) I've transfered her original into a google doc which hopefully most of you can access via this invitation (if you can not let me know) I'll also set up a gWave for this as well and invite any of you who do not already have access to this collaboration tool to use that if you so desire it will allow us to iframe embed the google doc {and stay in real time synch} with all edits made by collaborators) and in ALAC we have found that those WG Members who traditionally have issues accessing google docs can access them via the open source wave form... I trust this will meet with your approval and if we do make edits to the Doc might I request we use a convention of our <initials> and/or colored text to show markup/notes etc., so for example I would be using the marker <CLO> and purple text color... <end copy text>

If we choose not to use these tools then no harm in having set them up we can delete easy enough...

Dear Colleagues ..

Reference to our conference call yesterday and for the sake of time, please find attached a very initial self brainstorming on bullets we need to address in our TOR & work methodology ..
I tried to put all the titles I could think of at the moment .. under each I tried to fill a starting point (a question, potential answer from the Draft prpoposal or a reference to part of the Draft proposal) ..

I think one approach could be:
- separating the titles into the 2 documents that were mentioned yesterday, TOR/charter & work methodology/operating principles, if so agreed (not sure if I have overlooked other needed documents)
- ensure no missing headline/section and no redundant or out of scope headline/section
- we can then start populating those headlines with questions/points that need to be considered under each section
- and finally agree on the answers/principles as a base for the final drafts

I apologize as the attachment is not in a very good shape (formating, line of thought, .....) but hope it helps as a starting point and triggers the online discussion ..

Kind Regards
