Cheryl

For the seven languages the quote of $US 3,000 stands. However it is
important that the translators work from an English template that we will
send after the En version is set. It is this template process that enables
us to be so competitive on the multi-language pricing.

Hi Ralph further to your recent provision of a test survey based on the
Questions to the Community from the ICANN Web site, some feedback received
from Team members so far and our brief discussions at our ATRT meeting
today; I've been asked to confirm with you if the "quote" I gave them for
the purposes of budget allocation inquiries of $3000 USD (for a survey in
the UN Languages + Portuguese) still stands (as our Review Team Chair Brian
Cute and ICANN Board Chair Peter Dengate-Thrush, are having further talks re
ATRT funding and budget this week...

To that end I've forwarded the original email with my responses to some of
your questions and where you mentioned the costs amount (copied then only to
the RT Chair and Vice Chair) back in May to the full ATRT list as we will
be discussing this matter more in Next weeks ATRT Meeting (and you should
know that feedback so far indicates changes to the detail of the questions
would be required) but more on that after Team discussion(s) ); And most
importantly to confirm back by return email directly to Brian Cute ASAP
that the $3000 USD figure still stands so that this amount can be
considered along with our other potential expenses.

Thanks

Hi Cheryl,

It's not quite finished but I just sent another link to show progress. In
some places we made the text more concise as this will help with translation
but you can expand it again if you like.

<CLO> Concise is Good :-)

The survey could be condensed further by collapsing many the yes/no
questions under one heading, but I am not sure this is wanted.

<CLO> you the expert here...

Also in the final version we would usually display each question on a
separate page to avoid major loss of data in case someone losses connection
before submitting.

<CLO> that makes perfect sense to me...

I have not mentioned costing on this one yet. I'm helping out here with the
survey structure at no obligation for payment. However generally we would
create and manage this type of survey and enter all the translations for
about $US2500 plus $200 per language assuming the translated text is
provided. However we have been doing similar jobs for ICANN lately for
$US3000 and happy to hold that fee for this one.

<CLO> thanks good to know (I DO like a bargain) and yes ICANN would
provide any translated text....

If the same survey is repeated in other years with little change then we can
manage it for a much smaller fee next time. Are you happy for us to complete
the management of this one on these rates? I assume the paying client is
your US office so no GST is included. I believe our rates for this type of
multi-language project are much less than generally available in the market.
Note it's important not to translate the text until we send an english
version template to work from.

<CLO> Thanks this is also good to know... I need to take the sample to the
rest of the Team now (with the rough costs) we have a meeting later this
week... I note when I follow the links bellow >>>

Cheryl,

CLICK HERE <https://www.bigpulse.com/p9837/> to see some work in progress.
See how some of the questions have been condensed in a rating format. Does
this work? Not all questions can fit into this style. >>>

That I'm logged on with my BP identity how do we show the others what were
proposing? Perhaps if Brian and Manal try the CLICK HERE link above, and
can see the sample that is all we need but I would want to have the team
"play with the sample so whatever we need to do to set that up needs to be
discussed...

Yes it would be US client so not GST, and you note on translations is
NOTED... I suspect next steps would be fine tuning the questions from the
sample to ensure the Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT)
feels were asking all we need to then look to next steps etc., from that...
So all I can have to put onto our Agenda later this week (thus the c.c. to
the Chair and Vice Chair of the ATRT as they will be setting the Agenda) the
better...

Thanks again... CLO

Cheers
