"Thick" Whois
Council Approved a motion to start a PDP (Policy Development Process) on Thick Whois. Motion included our favored amendment to avoid letting this PDP interfere with negotiations on RAA and .com renewal contract:

"Whereas nothing in this motion is intended to prejudice migration to thick Whois through contractual means."

If this PDP generates a new consensus policy for Thick Whois, it would immediately apply to both .com and .net TLDs that use thin Whois today. Whereas a contractual provision in the .com renewal later this year would only cover .com.

Locking Domain names in a UDRP proceeding.
Council unanimously approved a charter for the PDP on the requirement to lock a domain name subject to UDRP proceedings.

Top-level protections and options for Olympics / Red Cross
The non-commercial folks deferred the motion, citing need to finish public comment period and follow full process. This stimulated a lively debate. Zahid called for an expedited schedule so that this motion could be voted before the new gTLD application window closes.
