Thanks Julie.  It seems to me that since the Vice Chair position is now vacant, we should call for volunteers for that position.

Hi Anne,

With respect to the procedure for getting a new Vice Chair (and not to anticipate Mary's response) I think we would repeat the process that was held when we asked for volunteers for Chair and Vice Chair at the end of last year.  As stated in the Charter, "the SCI will ask for volunteers from its primary members to serve as Chair and Vice Chair." (In this case just for Vice Chair.)  As noted in the Charter only Primary members are eligible for the position.  If there is more than one volunteer then an election would be held as described in the Charter as follows, "If there are [...] one or more candidates for Vice Chair, the GNSO Secretariat will conduct an election for each position via e-mail ballot and tally the results after one week.  In the event no one candidate receives a clear majority, the GNSO Secretariat will conduct an election between the two candidates receiving the most votes via email ballot and tally the results after one week."

We understand from staff that the SCI GNSO liaison (Avri) will provide updates to the SCI as to GNSO handling of SCI matters.  Avri, can you please update the list regarding the March 19 Council meeting as it relates to the SCI agenda items?

Separately, Mary, can you please advise the procedure for getting a new Vice Chair now that Lori has gone to INTA?      (Cintra, will you be stepping back in as NPOC Primary?)
