Dear Working Group Members and Observers,

As the Working Group Charter, informed by the Final Issue Report for this Policy Development Process, is the main and most important document that frames as well as sets out the scope of the PDP we are undertaking, Kathy, Phil and J Scott have requested that the second Working Group meeting be restructured. It will now be conducted in the form of a webinar and discussion for these two documents, to which Observers are also invited. The hope is that this all-hands webinar will allow everyone, including our Observers, to become familiar with the scope of our tasks.

Members will already have received the call-in details for this next session, scheduled for Wednesday 27 April at 1700 UTC. In view of the proposal to present this session as an overview of the two farming documents for our work, Observers will also soon receive the relevant information to dial into this particular call.

In addition, please note that it is likely that the following week will not see a regular Working Group meeting. Instead, there will be a further webinar for all interested Members and Observers, in place of a Working Group call. This second webinar will cover more general historical background to the various rights protection mechanisms, and provide a basic introduction to each RPM and its functions. We hope that by providing this supplemental and additional webinar, participants who are less familiar with the RPMs will have the opportunity to learn about each of them and ask questions to enhance their knowledge of these policies and procedures. We will send out more details about this additional session after the first webinar on 27 April.

Following these two webinars, the weekly calls will revert to being regular WG meetings, to which only Members will have access. Please note that you can always change your status from Observer to Member, and vice versa, by emailing the GNSO Secretariat at gnso-secs at icann.org at any time.

Thanks and cheers
Mary
