Dear IDNGWG members,

Please see the follow-up IAB statement released recently at https://www.iab.org/documents/correspondence-reports-documents/2018-2/iab-statement-on-identifiers-and-unicode/.

In the statement there seems to be a reference pertinent to the current work on IDN guidelines: "For now, implementation guidelines by ICANN, TLD registries, and other administrators must continue to include serious caution about DNS name registrations using characters of this type."

Here is original statement from 2015 for your reference: https://www.iab.org/documents/correspondence-reports-documents/2015-2/iab-statement-on-identifiers-and-unicode-7-0-0/.

You are kindly requested to review the current draft guidelines to see if there is a need to update/add a guideline to address this statement from IAB.

Regards,
Sarmad
