Gentlemen,

That is the last day of the GDD summit in Bangkok which may make it challenging for some especially as 1900 UTC is 0100 in Bangkok.

Cheers,

CD

ICANN Staff Support to the IOT

      Dear members of the IOT:

Some weeks have passed since my email (forwarded below) asking for any further thoughts regarding the challenge to ICANN Org’s continued participation in the IOT as a full member rather than on a staff-support-only basis.

Thank you for weighing in<https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/iot/2019-March/000499.html>, Robin.

And so on this issue and on finishing the supplementary rules we have work to do and thus I propose that we meet on Thursday, May 9th, at our usual 19:00 UTC time to pick up following this hiatus for further opinions on the challenge issue.

I see the next meeting as re-organizational in a manner – to come together to decide how best to forward the challenge to decision-makers (the emails cited below and Robin’s email pertain) and to approach/organize for further work, most importantly to finish the supplementary rules.

It would be nice, Sam, to get an update/insight from ICANN Org on these matters and especially, if possible, to get an update on how and when efforts will be undertaken to add additional members to the IOT.

Many thanks all – and best wishes

      David

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [IOT] Any further thoughts?

Dear members of the IRP IOT:

Several weeks ago I posted a suggested approach<https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/iot/2019-March/000489.html> to Malcolm’s challenge and in turn Malcolm posted a separate approach in two emails, here<https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/iot/2019-March/000490.html>, and here<https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/iot/2019-March/000492.html>.

Are there any other thoughts on this?, if so please post on list.

Both Bernie and I will be away – I am out until April 5th and Bernie will likely be away for several days. Can anyone wanting to weigh in on the challenge issue specifically please do so by Monday, April 8.

      Thank you,

      David
