[RZERC] Delivery of the report on RSSAC028 Recommendation 2 and RZERC002 Recommendation 1

Dear colleagues,

Recommendation 1 of RZERC002 advised the ICANN Board "that ICANN org conduct the further studies called for in Recommendation 2 of RSSAC028 and focus on these aspects of the research”, and continued with a list of three items to focus on. ICANN’s Office of the CTO (OCTO) commissioned a study in response to Recommendation 2 of RSSAC028. That study's scope of work explicitly encompassed the additions recommended in Recommendation 1 of RZERC002. Paul Hoffman and I are pleased to announce that the report is now complete and available at https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/rssac028-implementation-study-report-27sep23-en.pdf. We note that this report would not have been possible without the help of the root server operators, particularly those who do not normally expose the details of their authoritative root server software.

ICANN org will notify RZERC formally through the Action Request Register (ARR) process that we believe Recommendation 1 of RZERC002 is now complete.
