Subject: Continued Progress on the Accreditation and Access Model for Non-Public Whois Data

Thanks for the broad participation in last week's call to review the Accreditation and Access Model for Non-Public Whois Data. There were over 150 participants and we continue to get comments on the model.

The deadline for comments on the current model is this coming Friday, 13 April 2018 at 4PM UTC (12 PM EDT, 9 AM PDT). Comments can be sent to accred-model at icann.org<mailto:accred-model at icann.org> and they will be publicly archived. Previous comments can be found at https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/accred-model/2018-April/date.html<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__mm.icann.org_pipermail_accred-2Dmodel_2018-2DApril_date.html&d=DwMGaQ&c=XRWvQHnpdBDRh-yzrHjqLpXuHNC_9nanQc6pPG_SpT0&r=6lUxzkhJPN5qts-Nve5TYqxoGjP81z1kCvXgsmw-MiQ&m=Vdq5GVxAWAFCORnJ0EjvHfsC_GbxkqUg7SVoKg3Emlg&s=veJuFIaMrPPsjXiAhbO-FXNtmsSI_BY1cENQ4bPR4q0&e=>. Shortly after the close of this round of comments, we will be posting an updated version along with next steps here<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__mm.icann.org_pipermail_accred-2Dmodel_2018-2DApril_date.html&d=DwMGaQ&c=XRWvQHnpdBDRh-yzrHjqLpXuHNC_9nanQc6pPG_SpT0&r=6lUxzkhJPN5qts-Nve5TYqxoGjP81z1kCvXgsmw-MiQ&m=Vdq5GVxAWAFCORnJ0EjvHfsC_GbxkqUg7SVoKg3Emlg&s=veJuFIaMrPPsjXiAhbO-FXNtmsSI_BY1cENQ4bPR4q0&e=>.

As we approach the May 25 deadline for implementation of a compliance model without a prospect for access to this critical data for the protection of the security of the Internet and its users, we are asking the SO and AC's to demand that ICANN substantively and financially support these parallel community processes:

  1. Complete the design of the Accreditation and Access Model
  2. Develop a list of acceptable credentials and credential verification process
  3. Develop technical implementation by designing and implementing both a mode for submitting applications and the validation of credentials
  4. Design and implement a technical access method for credentialed entities

Thanks for your continued community participation in the creation of this accreditation and access model. We appreciate your support and commitment.

Thanks,
