[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Verisign is out of control

If ICANN was serious about domain improvement, as I believe it is, it needs
to move away from giving verisign more power over domains, including
pricing. Verisign has proven that they are not in the best interest of
ICANN and will eventually cannibalize and destroy ICANN if it serves their
purpose as a public company. This isn't a prophecy, it's a legal
requirement that Verisign has as a corporation to make the most money it
can for its investors. ICANN needs to be wary that Verisign will do its
best to limit or block ICANN when they can. This means that ICANN will take
money from Verisign now but lose more money later when Verisign uses their
money to circumvent ICANN.

Stop allowing Verisign to raise prices. Regulate the internet so that ICANN
can remain in existence. We need regulation on the internet. We need a
neutral third party to make things more competitive and allow for more
innovation. This makes ICANN more money, more valuable, and more of a
governing body than what it is becoming. You deserve better and this isn't
the way.
