I would like to voice my opinion, I strongly oppose the price hike of .com for the next 10 years that iCANN and verisign have agreed on.
This does not benefit the consumer. It hurts the consumer, and it hurts the internet. This price hike is unnecessary. Costs have not gone up, thus there’s no reason to raise prices.
The internet belongs to our society, to the people, and it should be accessible. When you increase the price of .com this will snowball into price increases with everything linked to the internet because .com is a big part of the internet. This will hurt and decrease accessibility to the internet by the consumer. And the internet is of and for the people.
Plus iCANN has received 20 million dollars from verisign and they have not disclosed what it’s for. It’s only a sign that there is some undisclosed business that will hurt the consumer and only benefit iCANN and Verisign. Please put a stop NOW to this proposed rate hike of 10 projected years. Please save accessibility to the internet.
Thank you.
