We've had discussions about this already.

It's clear that the new procs with regards to DOIs are felt by most to be rather cumbersome. The worry is that the Council approved them, it seems without really realising what they entailed.

The problem here is volunteer overload. There's so much stuff coming the Council's way that it may be unreasonable to expect Councillors to see it all or to consider it all with the degree of attention it deserves.

So when we do approve something that, once put into practice turns out to be difficult to work with, perhaps we should have some kind of "quick fix" procedure so that we aren't "lumped" with cumbersome rules for months or even years...
